Are you someone who takes pride in handson work and enjoys being out in the community The City of Medford is hiring a seasonal Park Custodianto help maintain our restrooms park buildings and public spaces. This is a great opportunity to work outdoors stay active and make a visible difference in the places people gather and enjoy. If youre dependable detailoriented and ready to roll up your sleeves we want to hear from you!


Required Education and Experience:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent; and
  • Six 6 months or more experience as a custodian with an industrial janitorial firm or commercial business and thorough knowledge of custodial materials and methods.

Additional EligibilityRequirements:
  • Ability to meet the physical requirements of the position.
  • Possession of a valid drivers license by date of hire. New employees establishing resident status in the State of Oregon must obtain an Oregon drivers license within 30 days (ORS 807.020 1.
  • Ability to maintain an acceptable driving record throughout employment.
  • Successful completion of a background investigation to the satisfaction of the City.

Available Schedule:
  • 8 hours dailyTuesday Saturday 2:00 pm 10:30 pm

Compensation & Information on Benefits

The anticipated hiring range for thePark Custodianposition is $19.81(first step) to $20.80or $21.84(second or third step).The City of Medford determines starting pay based on an evaluation of relevant education experience andqualifications as provided by the applicant in their application materials alongside others who perform work of comparable character consistent with the Oregon Equal Pay Act. Sixsteps are included in this salary range allowing opportunity for annual movement through the steps.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:
Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks which require following basic safety precautions.

  • To perform this job successfully the employee must be able to complete considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting pushing or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70 of job.
  • Occasionally walks up and down multiple levels of steps and building levels while carrying supplies.
  • Work may involve moderate exposure to unusual elements such as extreme temperatures dirt dust fumes smoke unpleasant odors and/or loud noises.
