About the Role:
In this role youll support partners in building and launching payroll by bringing together the interdependent work streams of Partner Growth Technical Solutions and Customer Experience across both internal and external teams. Additionally youll develop scalable programs and tools to drive Gusto Embedded Payrolls (GEP) rapid growth ensuring our systems and processes evolve in step with our expanding partner ecosystem.
This will be a dynamic role working across multiple disciplines both internally and externally. Youll work together with our teams (who are eager for the support! to refine and build programs as we scale. Since this function is still in its early stages youll have the opportunity to quickly develop and implement best practices to drive growth from the 110 phase and beyond. Youll be empowered by our Head of Program Management.
About the Team:
GEP is our newest business unit driving the next phase of innovation and growth for Gusto. Our mission is to enable thirdparty SMB platforms to seamlessly build sell and serve payroll within their own products through our API. By expanding access to payroll services were bringing Gustos people platform to hundreds of thousands more businesses than those we serve directly.
As GEP scales our partnerships have grown more complex serving thousands or even hundreds of thousands of employers. This rapid expansion has created a need for stronger coordination across GEP work streams external partner teams and crossfunctional Gusto stakeholders. Program Management within GEP is a relatively new function and in this role youll be part of a small team dedicated to driving alignment improving collaboration and ensuring smooth of our most critical initiatives.
Heres what youll do daytoday:
- Project Planning and Expertise: Planning for and executing on intricate deliveries of custom multiwork stream and phase programs for GEPs highest impact partner implementations
- Stakeholder Management: Actively engage with internal and external stakeholders to communicate project updates risks and achievements. You will facilitate discussions to align on project deliverables and address any conflicts or competing priorities.
- GEP Interface: Connect technical details growth initiatives and support needs making sure all GEP teams work together in service of launching and growing our partners payroll business.
- Crossfunctional Facilitation: Coordinating across xGEP and xGusto initiatives to include points of view track progress connect dependencies and discover risks early to prevent delays to partner launch and growth
- Process and Documentation:Standardizing delivery process and playbook for complex partner deliveries arming GEP with the tools to maximize future partner opportunities
Heres what were looking for:
- 24 years of experience in program or project management with a focus on external client engagements enterprise technology/SaaS experience is a bonus
- Handson experience working on complex xfunctional project planning and ; facilitation organization and stakeholder management
- Strong businessminded partnerships interest and acumen: understands partner lifecycle and investments required to enable partner success
- Exceptional communication and influencing skills (both written and verbal) with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments and global teams
- Strong sense of ownership and resilience adaptive to changing priorities and able to thrive in a fastpaced environment
- A strategic mindset focused on continuous improvement and scalability
- Excited by the combination of working deeply with individual partners while building for scale
- Thrives in ambiguity and has a passion for building and testing new processes
Our cash compensation amount for this role is targeted at $94000 $116000/yr in Denver & most remote locations and $/yr for San Francisco & New York. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors including candidate experience and expertise and may vary from the amounts listed above.
Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver San Francisco and New York City. Employees who are based in those locations will be expected to work from the office on designated days approximately 23 days per week (or more depending on role). The same office expectations apply to all Symmetry roles Gustos subsidiary whose physical office is in Scottsdale.
Note: The San Francisco office expectations encompass both the San Francisco and San Jose metro areas.
When approved to work from a location other than a Gusto office a secure reliable and consistent internet connection is required.
