Job Overview
We are seeking a Physicians Assistant to provide officebased care within our Acute Care clinical model. This successful clinic allows a same day/next day appointments model for patients with urgent urological conditions. Most common diagnoses are: kidney stones hematuria infection urinary retention etc. The Physicians Assistant will decide upon intervention and follow up needs in collaboration with the supporting physicians. Involvement in procedural care is available and encouraged.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a high degree of general medical and urological knowledge and exercise independent judgment as appropriate
- Assess the patients medical conditions (Ex: kidney stones hematuria infection urinary retention etc. by completion of a urological examination
- Document appropriately and communicate with the appropriate physician in a timely manner as required including but not limited to: evaluations treatment plans progress reports treatment notes and other reports as requested
- Order and evaluate laboratory radiological and diagnostic tests
- Prescribe monitor and adjust medications and devices based on the patients medical condition
- Develop and perform treatment plans in accordance with established protocols
- Order physical therapy occupational therapy and/or home health care as appropriate
- Perform acute officebased procedures as trained
Required License/Experience/Skills
- Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant Program
- Licensure in the state of Virginia
