Job Description
- Reviews insurance of scheduled patients.
- Determines amount that patient will pay at time of visit and notifies patient prior to appointment.
- Notifies front desk of expected patient payments.
- Informs Checkin and Checkout staff of amount to be collected at time of service.
- Verifies patient insurance benefits.
- Documents billing information in the billing notes section of Allscripts
- Uses appropriate websites to verify patient eligibility
- Maintains strict confidentiality.
- Maintains work area in a neat and orderly fashion.
- Supports Physicians Primary Care of Southwest Florida P.L. goals and objectives and team concept.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- One year of experience working in a highvolume medical office environment
- Knowledge of medical charging billing and registration policies and procedures
- Ability to perform mathematical computations and compute ratios and percentages.
- Ability to handle all interactions in a professional friendly and compassionate manner.
- Knowledge of methods and procedures of health data systems.
