THE ROLE
We are seeking a Data ProtectionOfficer for a leading Swiss financial services institution. The Data ProtectionOfficer will advise on legal regulatory and data protection matters with a focus on Swiss data protection laws. The successful candidate will play a visible and important role in ensuring compliance and supporting all companywide projects involving the processing of personal data. In this role the successful candidate will work closely with department heads and senior management and report to the General Counsel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Manage existing regulatory and legal frameworks in place within the financial institution regarding the processing of personal data.
  • Provide and coordinate legal advice to various stakeholders on the processing of personal data including data privacy impact assessments (DPIAs).
  • Review supply agreements concerning data privacy issues.
  • Define appropriate mechanisms and rules for the processing of personal data and maintain important relationships with external reporting agencies regarding breaches or noncompliance with Swiss data privacy laws.
  • Provide legal advice on confidentiality and privacy matters in IT and datarelated projects.
  • Develop a constructive working relationship within the company to implement a culture of compliance around data privacy particularly with internal data privacy ambassadors.

YOUR PROFILE
  • Experienced Legal Counsel with relevant experience advising on data protection and privacy topics related to Swiss data protection laws and regulations.
  • Prior experience working within the financial services or technology industry is highly preferred.
  • Fluency in German and English both written and verbal; proficiency in French would be an advantage.
  • Excellent drafting communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Highly organized efficient and hardworking with the ability to drive projects and meet deadlines.
