Responsibilities:

Provide advanced emergency medical care to Contractor personnel COM personnel and others at the direction of DS/RSO including invasive and pharmacological interventions within the Contractors Scope of Practice and in alignment with the National Emergency Medical Services Scope of Practice and WPS III IDIQ Attachment 13 Clinical Protocol Guidance

Perform daytoday personal protective security functions.

Drive the lead vehicle principals vehicle followvehicle and/or act as a response agent whenever required in motorcade or similar operations.

Maintain assigned protective formation position during principals walking movements.

Participate in advance security preparations.

Staffs the security post at the principals residence or man the command post or other static post as required.

Qualifications:

For bio approval the PSS/PARA shall meet the following qualifications:

Applicants must pass the preemployment Physical Readiness Test (PRT) in order to advance in the application process for the position.

Must be a U.S. citizen.

Must possess current and active National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians certification as a paramedic.

• Certification must be valid prior to deployment and remain valid throughout the period of deployment.

Must possess current approved Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Professional Rescuer certification or American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Advanced Trauma Training credentials i.e. International Life Support (ILS) or PreHospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) or equivalent.

Must have successfully completed the Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC) course or an equivalent tactical trauma course of at least 16 hours duration within the last ninety 90 days. Completion of the PHTLS or ITLS course required in subparagraph C above does not satisfy this requirement. A 63hour (TCCC) course is required prior to deployment.

Must possess the following:

• A minimum of three 3 years of prehospital emergency medical services experience at the AEMT or paramedic level. While the Government may accept military service as a medical provider (including special operations units) to satisfy this requirement the Government will not accept service in which a nonmedical provider (infantryman vehicle operator clerk etc. provides medical first response as an ancillary duty in satisfaction of this requirement. Work experience in a hospital or clinic setting does not satisfy this requirement.
• A bio approved PSS/PARA does not automatically qualify to fill other P category positions and requires separate bio approvals that must include the minimum experience outlined in this Attachment for other positions. (e.g. PSS require a minimum of one 1 year of experience in protective security assignments but PSS/PARA does not require this experience thus if the individual has this experience they must demonstrate in a new bio submission for approval prior to filling a PSS position)

Upon bio approval and before beginning work on the contract the PSS/PARA shall:

Attend and successfully complete the PSS training course as outlined in WPS III IDIQ Attachment 2 Training.

Qualify with the Glock19 M4 or MK18 as specified by the designated TO M240 and M249 requalifying as required in WPS III IDIQ Attachment 2 Training.

Obtain and maintain a Personnel Security Clearance as identified in the TO.

Complete the WPS III Physical Readiness Test per WPS III IDIQ Attachment 15 Physical Readiness Test Protocols and Standards at the sixtyfive 65 percent performance level and maintain that fitness level for the duration of his/her service on the TO.

Possess no impediments to traveling overseas to and within countries that are considered dangerous or unhealthy in general or to the country or countries assigned in the applicable TO.

Based upon the needs of the program and Project Management discretion qualified individuals may be required to temporarily fill an alternate position.
