Job Description

The Electrical Engineer I or II is responsible for providing electrical engineering support for the development and commercialization of new/existing processes process improvements and technical systems. This position will oversee the design and development of manufacturing equipment and processes while supporting continuous improvement efforts as it relates to equipment reliability equipment standards and procedures. Heres what your day will include:

  • Lead and manage a team of electrical engineers and technicians
  • Assist maintenance in troubleshooting all aspects of the wipes manufacturing process
  • Lead continuous improvement effort for electrical controls and process monitoring
  • New equipment installation and startup
  • Implement automation to improve quality
  • Machine modifications to improve performance
  • Participate in activities with crossfunctional teams
  • Lead projects and activities to support business objectives
  • This position has significant growth opportunity and may occasionally require schedule flexibility occasional travel working nights and weekends.
  • Administer arc flash training to and track compliance records for qualified associates on an annual basis

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Develop expertise to ensure process conform to sanitary standards and have the capability to produce products that meet customer and business requirements.
  • Develop and provide expertise with respect to electrical design of components equipment and processes through the utilization of engineering principles commonlyused concepts practices and procedures.
  • Participate in activities to drive plant continuous improvement in the areas of safety quality cost and asset management.
  • Participate in the development and commercialization of new/existing processes process improvement initiatives and technical systems to meet business objectives.
  • Assist maintenance in troubleshooting manufacturing equipment.
  • Assist with the development of new/existing process systems such as: machine centerlines good run settings maintenance procedures and training materials.
  • Coordinate the electrical fabrication operation installation and/or repair of equipment and processes.
  • Provide support to purchasing by providing equipment specifications and/or requirements resolve equipment or parts issues and realize cost savings opportunities with equipment vendors or parts suppliers.

  • Associates have a direct and important role in ensuring that all work is performed in a safe manner. Effectiveness in carrying out this responsibility is part of each associates essential accountabilities.
  • Contribute to a cooperative working effort by demonstrating a willingness to perform other jobrelated work as needed or requested
  • Lead a team of Electrical Controls Technicians on various shifts and play a direct role in development and training of electrical personnel.
  • Provide support as required to ensure that a safe and healthful environment is provided for all employees and compliance to all government regulations and corporate policies are maintained with respect to equipment and process design. This includes participating and coordinating design safety reviews.
  • Participate in developing and fostering relationships with key equipment suppliers to provide Rockline with a distinct technical advantage and serve as a liaison between suppliers and the manufacturing facilities as required.
  • Provide support for Rockwell Factory Talk integration and maintenance along with other automations systems.
  • Participate in the development implementation and conformance to financial policies technical guidelines and internal controls.

This position is designated as SafetySensitive (A safetysensitive position is one in which the associates inability or impaired ability to perform their jobrelated tasks could result in a direct threat to the associates safety or the safety of others).

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: (To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each of the essential accountabilities satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge skill and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent education with 35 years experience programming in a manufacturing environment is required
  • Computer/PLC/HMI programming experience with relevant drive and control systems required
  • Strong analytical skills and exposure to project management
  • Working knowledge of AutoCAD or comparable electrical design software
  • Read electrical pneumatic and hydraulic schematics
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft (Excel Word PowerPoint Project and Teams)
  • Indepth working knowledge of Allen Bradley PLC 500 and 5000
  • Batch or liquids blending experience preferred
  • Demonstrate ability to effectively communicate utilizing written verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Superior organizational skills

  • Must be able to communicate facetoface and over the phone.
  • Occasional lifting up to 35 lbs.
  • Frequent standing/walking. Occasional sitting bending twisting kneeling climbing pushing/pulling and reaching.
  • Repetitive hand and foot movement.
  • Work environment includes occasional noise >85db hot and cold temperatures.
  • Requires ability to read write calculate and analyze.
  • Requires good visual acuity with depth perception and color vision.
