JOB OVERVIEW:
The Stoneleigh Emerging Leader Fellowship is a twoyear fulltime handson position for early career professionals (September 8 2025 September 7 2027. Fellows work collaboratively with Health Promotion Council (HPC) and the Stoneleigh Foundation to execute a project that advances the missions of these organizations and enhances Fellows professional skills and leadership development. Fellows are also supported by a cohort of peer Emerging Leaders who participate in Foundation programming. In addition to host site organization expectations Stoneleigh requires Emerging Leader Fellows to attend monthly programming aimed at knowledge acquisition leadership and career development training and building cohesion among Fellows and the Program Officer. Fellows are also expected to attend Stoneleigh Foundation events (usually 3 to 4 held throughout the year that allow for additional opportunities to connect to professionals mentors and connect with people that may help you meet your project and professional goals.
The Stoneleigh Emerging Leader Fellow will join Advocacy Institute (Ai) a youth empowerment program of HPC to enhance the Philly Peace Ambassadors (Ai PPA) violence prevention initiative by addressing critical needs like housing food mental health relationships and skillbuilding. They will conduct a community mapping assessment and audit of HPCs youth programs to establish a structured referral pathway for youth at high risk of gun violence involvement. Collaborating with the Ai PPA staff and youth Peer Coaches the Fellow will ensure programming remains traumainformed evidencebased and youthcentered while implementing harm reduction strategies to strengthen gun violence prevention efforts.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Key responsibilities include:
InDepth Audit of HPCs Internal Programs and Community Mapping: Building on Ai PPAs comprehensive needs assessment and research the Fellow will undertake a detailed organizational audit to evaluate the alignment of HPCs internal programs with the specific needs of Philadelphias youth populations. This audit will include an indepth analysis of the scope accessibility and outcomes of HPCs youth serving programs aiming to identify strengths synergies and gaps that may hinder the organizations ability to fully meet its violence prevention objectives.
YouthFocused Gun Violence Prevention Curriculum Revisions and Implementation:
The Fellow will build upon the foundational work of HPCs previous Stoneleigh Fellow and youth participants to revamp and expand the Ai PPA curriculum. Since 2020 Ai PPA has served as a training initiative for youth aged 13 to 19 equipping them to identify the circumstances and systems contributing to the increased risk of gun violence in Philadelphia. The 10week program focuses on fostering selfawareness selfefficacy and understanding gun violence as a public health issue.
Development and Implementation of a Wraparound Service Plan for Youth and Families:
Building upon existing relationships with organizations that address SDOH including PHMC
programs and subsidiaries HPC will tailor a plan to address the needs of youth and families. The key elements of this plan will include:
1. a robust network of wraparound services for youth and families;
2. Development of a standardized intake assessment for youth (ages 1218;
3. Assist with developing a structured referral framework to link youth identified as highrisk to appropriate partner resources.

EXPERIENCE:
It is essential the candidate have expertise in gun violence prevention and working with young people. Desirable experience for a Fellow candidate includes program evaluation curriculum development community outreach and engagement and expert knowledge of the impact of social determinants of health on community violence. Preferred experience includes coalition building youth behavioral health knowledge of social service referral processes and trauma informed care.

Candidates chosen for an interview will be contacted directly by April 14 2025. One final candidate will be recommended to and interviewed by the Stoneleigh Foundation in May 2025. In June 2025 Stoneleigh staff will present recommended candidates and projects to its Board of Directors for their final determination. The approved candidate will begin the Fellowship on September 8 2025.

Bachelors Degree required.
