Information Systems and Cyber Division (ISCD)staff couple the latest in information system technologies such as elastic compute clouds containerization microservices realtime operating systems and visualization frameworks with expertise in cyber security software architecture software engineering process improvement and software development to deliver responsive resilient highperformance software intensive systems to our IC DoD and civilian customers.

Aerospaces Cyber Security and Advanced Platforms Subdivision Cyber Assessments and Research Department is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to help design implement assess and deploy cyber solutions that defend our nations most valuable assets in space. We are seeking a highly motivated cyber security engineer with a desire to support customers across a full spectrum cyber security activities.

Work Model

This is a full time position based in Chantilly Va offering a hybrid work model that combines 34 regular onsite workdays and remote flexibility as the business needs allow.

What Youll Be Doing

  • Lead projects involving one or more of the following areas: Vulnerability Assessment Cyber Security Architecture Cyber Security Prototype/Capability Development cyber system tradeoff studies for various system designs or protocols validation of network system requirements
  • Communicate with government customers to help define cyber security related tasks
  • Perform research in the areas of cyber and network security
  • Lead and contribute to the development of security prototypes
  • Review network architecture designs identify security dataflow performance deficiencies
  • Identify security vulnerabilities in various SW and HW platforms and be able to make recommended mitigations

What You Need to be Successful

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors or advanced degree in STEM or emphasis in Computer Science Software Engineering Computer Engineering Cyber Security or similar technical area of study
  • 10 or more years cyber security experience
  • Demonstrable history of project leadership in cyber assessments prototype development and/or cyber research
  • Excellent communication skills; experience developing and delivering briefings for both technical and nontechnical audiences
  • Demonstrable proficiency in one or more programming languages (such as Python C C C Java etc)
  • Proficient in Linux and Unix based operating systems
  • Knowledge and/or experience of both offensive and defensive cyber security tools tactics techniques and procedures
  • Knowledge and/or experience performing vulnerability assessment and mitigation
  • Knowledge of DoD cybersecurity policies including the Risk Management Framework (RMF) or NIST SP 80053.
  • Network engineering and architecture knowledge (TCP/IP IPSEC HTTP/S routing protocols)
  • Willing to travel approximately 10 of the time as needed.
  • This position requires ability to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance which is issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.

How You Can Stand Out

It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:

  • Active TS/SCI clearance
  • Advanced technical degree or certification (OSCP CISSP CEH SANS etc.
  • Experience with space systems including familiarity with space ground and user segments as well as legacy software
  • Experience with AI/ML
  • Experience with cloud technologies such as AWS and Azure Kubernetes and Docker and related security
  • Experience with Agile methodology and team collaboration tools
  • Familiarity with ICS/SCADA systems
