Are you seeking a new and challenging position supporting a complex Program for the Warfighter Well look no further! This is an exciting time to contribute to a missioncritical program with lasting impactful results. Leidos is currently looking to add a Signal Software Engineer (SSWE1 to a growing task. The SSWE will translate system requirements into software requirements perform software design and implement software applications and features in an agile environment. The candidate must have strong Java JavaScript and/or C skills. The Signals Software Engineer develops maintains and enhances signal processing software (e.g. detectors demodulators protocol processors). Works individually or as part of a team. Reviews and tests software components for adherence to the design requirements and documents test results. Resolves software problem reports. Utilizes software development and software design methodologies appropriate to the development environment. Provides specific input to the software components of system design to include hardware/software tradeoffs software reuse use of Commercial Offtheshelf (COTS)/Government Offtheshelf (GOTS) in place of new development and requirements analysis and synthesis from system level to individual software components.

Clearance Required: Must have TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance specifications.
  • Design develop and enhance software to add new features or improve existing functionality.
  • Debug and resolve defects in software systems.
  • Utilize signal processing techniques and digital modulation methods effectively.
  • Develop software using C and Java within Linux operating systems.
  • Integrate software into new or modified systems ensuring seamless operation.
  • Lead or participate in the development and of test procedures for software components.
  • Write and review software and system documentation providing recommendations to improve processes and standards.
  • Apply scientific analysis and mathematical models to design software solutions and predict outcomes.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with softwaredefined radio architectures (e.g. SCA REDHAWK GNU) and commercial wireless standards.
  • Proficiency in software configuration management tools (e.g. GIT Trac Subversion).
  • Familiarity with Python Eclipse IDE Google Protocol Buffer and modelbased design tools like MATLAB or SIMULINK.
  • Knowledge of serviceoriented architecture Kubernetes Docker and cloud deployment (e.g. AWS).
  • Expertise in frontend technologies such as JavaScript TypeScript HTML and CSS including libraries like React Vue or Angular.
  • Experience working with REST APIs WebSockets and JavaScript 3D libraries (e.g.Three.jsis a plus).
  • Background in Agile development teams and geolocation techniques.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required with 15 years of experience. Seven 7 years experience as a SSWE or equivalent on a project with a focus on Radio Frequency (RF) to include experience with Fourier transforms filtering communications theory digital modulation error control coding signals analysis tools (e.g. WVT DVT) and digital signal processing (e.g. adaptive beamforming/ filtering demodulation). Seven 7 years of additional SSWE or equivalent experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a bachelors degree.
