Foth is seeking a Lead Geotechnical Engineer to support a variety of environmentally related projects. This role requires strong technical expertise in geotechnical engineering focusing on the design and analysis of earth structures marine foundations and heavylift foundation support. The candidate will assess soil and rock conditions to ensure stable foundations and safe infrastructure addressing environmental aspects and collaborating with multidiscipline teams. This role is open to remote hybrid orinoffice work.
Primarily Responsibilities:
- Earth Structures & Foundations: Design construction and finite element analysis. Perform geotechnical analysis design calculations and ensure soil stability for heavy civil projects
- Marine Structural Foundations: Pile driving analysis dynamic pile testing CAPWAP. Collaborate with structural engineers to create complementary foundation designs
- HeavyLift Foundations: Evaluate soil and rock properties loadbearing capacity and ground improvement. Address environmental impacts and ensure sustainable practices
- General Geotechnical: Collect data analyze slope stability manage groundwater and assess geotechnical risks. Use tools like AutoCAD for design and decisionmaking
- Project Management: Assist with proposals reports and project phases. Coordinate tasks review junior staff work and ensure highquality deliverables
- Field Work & Construction Support: Prepare design calculations coordinate field work provide construction observations and perform site visits to analyze data
Required Qualifications:
- Experience: 7 years with an engineering consulting firm performing civil engineering work with a geotechnical focus in heavy civil design and construction
- Education: Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering Geotechnical Engineering Geological Engineering or related field
- Certification: Professional Engineering Certification (PE)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Education: Masters Degree in Civil Engineering Geotechnical Engineering Geological Engineering or related field
$80000 $170000 a year
