Position Description

The Department of of Accounting Finance and Economics at California State University Dominguez Hills (CSUDH) invites applications for a Tenuretrack position at the rank of Assistant Professor (Academic Year) with the appointment starting in Fall 2025.

The Position

Teaching needs include accounting information systems data analytics accounting data software and courses related to CPAISC discipline CPATCP discipline and CPABAR discipline. The ideal candidate must have a Ph.D. degree in accounting from an AACSB accredited university and be academically qualified based on the currentAACSB standards by the time of employment. Professional certification and working experience are preferred but ABDs will be considered. A track record of teaching excellence is required and publications in quality journals are preferred.

Responsibilities

Teaching duties may consist of day or evening classes. Teaching responsibilities may include both undergraduate and graduate courses and likely include online courses. Additional responsibilities include publishing research papers in highquality journals and perform service consistent with the mission of the University and the College of Business Administration and Public Policy. Publications in support of the mission is expected and required for tenure and promotion.

Required Qualifications

  • Applicants must have experience in working with students from diverse age socioeconomic cultural and academic backgrounds.
  • Qualified applicants should hold a Ph.D. in Accounting from a university accredited by AACSB. Consideration will also be given to those at the ABD stage from an AACSBaccredited institution contingent upon completing Ph.D. requirements before the commencement of employment.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference will be given to candidates with a strong background in accounting information systems (AIS) and who have the ability to teach courses aligned with the CPAISC Discipline both at undergraduate and graduate levels. However consideration will also be extended to candidates who are familiar with data analytics and/or other relevant areas such as TCP and BAR within the CPA disciplines.

The department offers undergraduate concentrations in accounting finance general business international business and a certificate in accounting. The department also offers a Master degree in accounting.

The College of Business Administration and Public Policy

Established in 1973 the College of Business Administration and Public Policy (CBAPP) is a productive and professional environment of excellence in academic programs and scholarly activity with 62 Fulltime Faculty and 1700 FullTime Students. Undergraduate and graduate programs in Business Administration Public Administration and Criminal Justice Administration are led by four academic departments and the School of Public Service and Justice consisting of scholarly tenured tenuretrack faculty and lecturers. Our programs have been granted regional accreditation by Western Association of Schools and Colleges(WASC) business programs accreditation by Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) and public administration accreditation by Network of Schools of Public Policy Affairs and Administration (NASPAA). Additional Information

The Assistant Professor (Academic Year) classification salary range is $6221 to $13224 per month 12 monthly payments per academic year);The anticipated hiring salary is per month. This position will be commensurate with experience and current CSUD $11400 to $11700 per month faculty salaries in the academic department/discipline. Faculty salaries are subject to budgetary authorization and any California State University System faculty contract increases. Summer research grants moving expenses startup funds and a reduced teaching load may be available.

Background Check
