Summary: Inspection of outgoing parts by establishing and maintaining quality control procedures within Final Inspection.

Duties and Responsibilities include the following:

1. Performs all duties as listed in the Quality Inspector Job Description.
2. Qualified to perform shipments of finished goods to all customers.
3. Reads and understands blueprints and/ or work order information for specified materials and dimensions daily.
4. Will attain and hold all Delegated Source Inspection stamps with all active customers.
   5. Assist in training and approve new Delegated Source Inspectors within the department.
5. Locates reference points on parts and measures dimensions such as angles arcs and radii using combinations of aids such as blocks V blocks sine bars and precision measuring instruments.
6. Checks surface finishes with the use of comparison gages or by using a Profilometer to ensure specified surface finish.
7. Uses precision instruments such as a micrometers Vernier calipers laser micrometers dial indicators snap gages comparators and pin gages.
8. Recommend changes/improvements to current production parts to ensure value stream process is most efficient to meet customer requirements.
9. Recommend changes/improvements to NPI parts prior to production; quality input to travelers before release to floor.
10. Required to pass annual eye exam by licensed optometrist.
11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Skills:

• Oral and Written Communication Skills with all levels of employees including operators inspectors supervisors customers and outside suppliers.
• Ability to read and follow instructions.
• Ability to work independently.
• Be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Operate internal computer systems.
• In depth ability to read blueprints including databased prints.

Education/Experience:

High School Diploma or Equivalent preferably from a Vocational or Technical curriculum.

Experience with all types of Inspection hand tools such as micrometers sine plates depth gages etc.

Working Conditions:

Normal Production environments subject to high noise levels from operating machines; physical hazards from moving equipment and sharp machine parts; breathing fumes dust and mist; skin exposure to oil and cutting fluid; exposure to sharp metal edges and forklifts

Physical Requirements:

• Must have ability to read applicable customer/Tell Tool documents with or without corrective lenses.
• May have lift up to thirty 30 pounds or more at a time.
• Must be able to push pull reach overhead stand walk climb stairs bend and/or sit for long periods of time.
