Job Description
Position: Ship Fitter
Job Location: Hahnville LA Belle Chasse LA Harahan LA
Hutco Branch: Harvey LA
Rate of Pay: $22.00 to $26.00 per hour (based on experience)
Hutco Inc. is looking for 1st class ship fitters for shipyards located in Hahnville LA Belle Chasse LA and Harahan LA. Looking for firstclass ship fitters only with shipyard experience. A test will be done on location to determine your capability. It primarily repairs work on barges and boats. NO twic card is required.
Description: Lays out and fabricates metal structural parts such as plates bulkheads and frames and braces them in position within the ships hull for welding.
Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years experience as 1st class ship fitter
- Outfitting experience
- Must know Ship terminology
- Must lay out and fabricate parts for ships
- Must be able to burn wash and bevel with a hand torch
- Must pass a drug test and physical
- Must be able to work all shifts
