Payroll Specialist

Job Summary
The applicant must have an indepth working knowledge of financial statements (income statement balance sheet statement of cash flows) to understand and analyze historical data and forecast future financial plans. Applicant must be proficient in Microsoft Excel including but not limited to knowledge on running complex formulas pivot tables charts graphs and other visuals and how to manipulate them. Applicant must be an efficient user of technology and computer application systems and be able to train and interpret applications for others. Applicant must be able to understand the complex details of finance and accounting and support the Director in preparing the executive level reporting and board presentations.He or she will seek to perform all duties as unto the Lord relying on the Holy Spirit for guidance and completing all tasks with excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
Bachelors degree required
Experience
Minimum 3 years of experience in a relevant role
Knowledge Skills & Abilities
Keen attention to detail and high aptitude with numbers
Good time management and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Problem solver
Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices financial markets banking and the analysis of reporting financial data
Communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience

Job Functions and Tasks
Assists in analyzing monthly department budgeting and accounting reports to maintain expenditure controls
Provides advice and technical assistance with cost analysis fiscal allocation and budget preparation
Examines budget estimates for completeness accuracy and conformance with procedures and regulations
Summarize budgets and submit recommendations for the approval or disapproval of fund requests
Consults with managers to ensure that budget adjustments are made in accordance with program changes.
Performs costbenefit analyses to compare operating programs review financial requests or explore alternative financing methods.
Seeks ways to improve efficiency
Identifies measures or indicators of system performance and the actions needed to improve or correct performance
Compiles codes categorizes calculates tabulates audits and verifies information
Uses relevant information and judgment to determine whether events or processes comply with laws regulations and standards
Stay abreast of technical changes in the industry impacting payroll
Support of additional Finance and Accounting Department functions as needed
