THE POSITION
Are you eager to further your professional career within the fascinating world of geology The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking a motivated Licensed Professional Geologist to join the Oils Gas and Minerals Division andprovide technical geologic and environmental management expertise. DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Licensed Professional Geologist you will conduct field inspections of sites actively being developed for mineral resources in addition to evaluating and reviewing construction erosion and sedimentation control reclamation revegetation and other plans submitted by coal or mineral operators on State Game Lands with an emphasis on avoiding or minimizing impacts to wildlife wildlife habitats and sportsmen and outdoor recreationists. You will also monitor and review coal and mineral resource recovery operations occurring on State Game Lands to ensure compliance with existing permits leases and agreements and to assess the impacts of such operations to wildlife populations habitats critical ecosystems streams springs surface waters and groundwater.
Excellent organizational skills are necessary to track and maintain accounting of lease royalties rentals and revenues generated from coal and mineral recovery operations on State Game Lands. This professional is also responsible for managing auditing and tracking State Game Land leases agreements and contracts to ensure compliance with provisions terms payments and obligations. Within this role it is essential to maintain a working knowledge of the Pennsylvania Game and Wildlife Code the Pennsylvania Game Commission Policy Manual and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Code and various other federal and state regulations.Interested in learning more Additional details regarding this position can be found in theposition description.
Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Fulltime employment
- Work hours are 7:45 AM to 4:00 PM Monday Friday with a 45minute lunch.
- Telework:You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) parttime up to 2 days per week upon successful completion of the initial 6month training period. In order to telework you must have a securely configured highspeed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY
QUALIFICATIONS
Special Requirements:
- You must possess an active license as a professional geologist issued by the Pennsylvania State Registration Board for Professional Engineers Land Surveyors and Geologists.
- You must possess an active Pennsylvania noncommercial Class C drivers license or equivalent.
