As a Licensed Professional Geologist you will conduct field inspections of sites actively being developed for mineral resources in addition to evaluating and reviewing construction erosion and sedimentation control reclamation revegetation and other plans submitted by coal or mineral operators on State Game Lands with an emphasis on avoiding or minimizing impacts to wildlife wildlife habitats and sportsmen and outdoor recreationists. You will also monitor and review coal and mineral resource recovery operations occurring on State Game Lands to ensure compliance with existing permits leases and agreements and to assess the impacts of such operations to wildlife populations habitats critical ecosystems streams springs surface waters and groundwater.
Excellent organizational skills are necessary to track and maintain accounting of lease royalties rentals and revenues generated from coal and mineral recovery operations on State Game Lands. This professional is also responsible for managing auditing and tracking State Game Land leases agreements and contracts to ensure compliance with provisions terms payments and obligations. Within this role it is essential to maintain a working knowledge of the Pennsylvania Game and Wildlife Code the Pennsylvania Game Commission Policy Manual and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Code and various other federal and state regulations.
