JOB DUTIES:
Responsible for building simulations and applications for various target platforms using the Unity 3D game engine for the University of North Dakotas John D. Odegard School of Aerospace Sciences. Specific duties include: 1 Designing and developing simulations and applications using Unity for aerospace training across a range of platforms including Windows iOS Android Virtual Reality (VR) and Augmented Reality (AR) devices; 2 Participating in designing VR experiences and producing program code for those designs; 3 Designing building and maintaining efficient reusable and reliable C# code; 4 Identifying opportunities to improve game architecture system automation and data management and creating Unity editor tools to streamline workflows; 5 Extending existing software to facilitate continuous content update and enhancing its reusability for similar applications; 6 Evaluating performance metrics with profiler tools to pinpoint bottlenecks and address the challenges with effective solutions; 7 Producing 3D assets including models textures and animations; 8 Establishing 3D production pipelines and standards to ensure the creation of optimized 3D assets for mobile development; 9 Collaborating with domain experts to refine the UI/UX design and ensure the accuracy of the programs through rigorous testing and debugging; and 10 Researching and updating the team on the latest XR trends and technologies.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a closely related field. Must have 6 months of professional software development experience. Relevant experience must include: 1 6 months of Unity C# development experience with a focus on Virtual Reality (VR) and/or Augmented Reality (AR); and 2 6 months of creating 3D assets including models textures and animations. These qualifications can be gained concurrently or in separate roles.
