NEEDED: Phlebotomist

LOCATION: Old Highway 75 Butner NC 27509

SCHEDULE:40 hours per week 8 hours per day Sunday through Saturday including federal holidays.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Provide documentary evidence of completion of a Phlebotomy training program.
• Must provide documentary evidence of completion of Phlebotomy certification exam.
• Provide documentary evidence of experience within the past three 3 years in
• performing basic Phlebotomy skills on humans.
• Evidence of CPR certification.

JOB DUTIES (responsible for but not limited to the following tasks):

• Provide professional phlebotomy services to inmates.
• Ordering laboratory studies in the Laboratory Information System drawing blood samples on ordered studies.
• Preparing samples for processing.
• Sharps accountability.
• Maintaining logs and records.
• Filling out appropriate laboratory request forms.
• Preparation of the call out (draw list and labels).
• Maintenance of a waiting list.
• Restocking Phlebotomy supplies as needed.
• Daily maintenance of laboratory equipment including advising the Laboratory Supervisor when equipment requires professional maintenance or repair.
• Biological specimen preparation and packaging for shipment to contract laboratories processing Incoming referral specimens.
• Processing outgoing specimen containers to referral facilities.
• Maintenance of laboratory logs and other records as necessary for complying with Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendment (CLIA) guidelines.
• Informing the Laboratory Supervisor of all information pertaining to the services rendered i.e. specimen(s) obtained.
• Reporting any problems arising regarding laboratory services.
• Responsible for providing technical and clerical support to the laboratory.
