POSITION OVERVIEW
KBR is seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior AWS Cloud DevOps Engineer to join our team in delivering innovative and missioncritical cloud solutions to our customers. As part of a global leader in science technology and engineering solutions youll play a pivotal role in advancing our hybridcloud strategies while collaborating with crossfunctional teams in a dynamic fastpaced environment.

This role will allow you to leverage your expertise in AWS technologies DevOps methodologies and automation tools to architect and implement secure reliable and resilient cloud solutions that support our clients most critical objectives.
This onsite position based in Sioux Falls South Dakota offers the opportunity to work closely with a highly skilled and diverse team fostering a culture of knowledgesharing and joint problemsolving. While this role primarily requires onsite collaboration there may be opportunities for remote work as part of the employment package though these cannot be guaranteed. RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead the evaluation implementation and deployment of processes and capabilities to advance hybridcloud strategies for KBRs customers.
- Collaborate with solution architects and crossfunctional design teams to deliver secure scalable and costeffective hybridcloud solutions in a FedRAMP high environment.
- Develop and maintain tools for provisioning monitoring auditing and deprovisioning hybridcloud infrastructure using Python Ansible and other automation tools.
- Partner with architects and engineers to design networks systems and storage environments aligned with customer needs security requirements and servicelevel objectives.
- Manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure technologies using industrystandard tools like Jenkins and GitLab Runners.
- Incorporate FinOps principles into hybridcloud strategies ensuring cost optimization resource accountability and operational efficiency.
- Design and implement scalable software services in collaboration with engineering and architecture teams.
- Troubleshoot and provide support for core business applications within a collaborative crossfunctional team environment.
- Develop strategic road maps and project implementation plans tailored to customer requirements.
- Identify and present recommendations for cost savings security improvements and best practices across AWS services and compliance requirements.
- Address complex technical challenges providing actionable solutions to senior leadership.
- Mentor and lead junior engineers fostering a culture of continuous learning and professional growth.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Technical Expertise:
- 10 years of experience in cloud engineering DevOps systems administration or equivalent roles with a strong focus on AWS technologies.
- 5 years of experience with DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines containerization and automation.
- Indepth knowledge of AWS Security Network Controls and FedRAMP compliance requirements.
- Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or AWS CDK.
- Proficiency in configuration management tools such as Ansible Chef or Puppet.
- Expertise in scripting languages such as Python Bash/Shell or PowerShell for infrastructure automation.
- Experience implementing costeffective FinOpsaligned cloud solutions.
- Leadership and Collaboration:
- Demonstrated ability to lead crossfunctional teams and mentor junior engineers fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
- Proven track record of working effectively in a dynamic fastpaced environment with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in collaboration with team members.
- ProblemSolving and Innovation:
- Exceptional problemsolving skills with a passion for identifying innovative scalable and costefficient solutions.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities navigate ambiguity and deliver highquality results under pressure.
- Communication and Documentation:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present recommendations to senior leadership and customers.
- Strong technical documentation skills for designing and implementing cloud infrastructure.
- Certifications and Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related technical field.
- AWS Associate Certification required such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Associate.
- Familiarity with Agile techniques and modern software engineering principles is a plus.
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- AWS Professional Certification (e.g. AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional.
- AWS Specialty Certification (e.g. AWS Certified Security Specialty AWS Certified Advanced Networking Specialty.
- Experience engineering and deploying public sector solutions.
- Expertise with AWS services such as S3 CloudFront EKS Lambda Aurora Serverless DB and AWS Batch.
- Experience incorporating FinOps principles into cloud strategies.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
- Three years of continuous residency in the U.S. for issuance of a Government Security credential
- The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a national agency check and background investigation after hire to obtain a badge for government facility access and user account
Experience and/or Education in lieu of these qualifications will be reviewed for applicability to meet these requirements.
