The Amazon Devices team designs and engineers highprofile consumer electronics including the bestselling Kindle family of products. We have also produced devices like Fire tablets Fire TV Amazon Dash and Amazon Echo. What will you help us create

The Role:
As a Software Development Engineer in the Device OS organization you will own the implementation and delivery of Device OS metrics. This is a unique technical role where you will have the opportunity to influence invent and design system architecture across multiple product and technology spaces (Alexa devices IoT devices Smart TV etc.. You will join a team whose mission is to ensure that stateoftheart technologies serving the customer are supported via flexible software architectures OS and Hardware Platform abstraction testability and scalability across multiple device types.
You will work crossfunctionally and crossorganizationally to conceive and design innovative solutions. You will dive into ambiguous problem spaces and meticulously distill out design choices tradeoffs and priorities. You are data and metric driven and obsessively concerned about performance in resourceconstrained environments. You love to share best practices influence and align teams and be a technical ambassador for software reuse across the wider Amazon organization.

A day in the life
You will work crossfunctionally and crossorganizationally to conceive and design innovative solutions. You will dive into ambiguous problem spaces and meticulously distill out design choices tradeoffs and priorities.
3 years of noninternship professional software development experience
3 years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language
3 years of full software development life cycle including coding standards code reviews source control management build processes testing and operations experience
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $129300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $223600/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on jobrelated knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity signon payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
