Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Instrument/Electrical Designer to join our team.

About the Position

  • Design and develop electrical and instrumentation systems.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to understand project requirements and develop design concepts.
  • Prepare detailed electrical and instrumentation drawings specifications and other technical documents.
  • Utilize computeraided design (CAD) software to create accurate and precise drawings.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes standards and project specifications.
  • Work closely with multidisciplinary teams including engineers and project managers to ensure successful project .
  • Ensure that all designs and documentation comply with relevant codes regulations and safety standards

Required Skills/ Abilities

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in instrument/electrical design
  • Previous experience working in refinery or chemical plant environment required
  • Strong working knowledge of P&IDs instrumentation design details control loop preparation location plans control panel layout.
  • Ability to communicate and understand work issued by various disciplines and others involved in a project design
  • Eligible to work for any U.S. employer
  • Be in good standing with DISA and valid TWIC are required.

Education and Experience

  • 35 years of experience required
  • SmartPlant Instrumentation (SPI) INtools experience required
  • Well versed in AutoCAD
  • Strong working knowledge of electrical design strong working knowledge of P&IDs instrumentation design details control loop preparation location plans control panel layout.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Climbing (stairs/ladders) and field visits are required.
  • Exposure to outdoors
  • Must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). This includes hardhat safety glasses respirators ear plugs steel toed shoes or other equipment as required.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
