The Department of Social Work at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a fulltime tenuretrack faculty position #168020 at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1 2025.
As an R2 university MTSU places a high value on teaching research and service. The Department of Social Work seeks faculty members who are highly engaged and pursue interdisciplinary collaboration with potential for external funding in research community engagement and contracts. The department expects a collaborative engaged and studentcentered approach to performance and responsibilities. A PhD in Social Work or equivalent and a Master of Social Work from a CSWE accredited program are required by the appointment date.
Two 2 years postmasters of social work practice experience including practice with individuals families communities or in policy and advocacy are required. One 1 year experience teaching in a higher education setting postmasters degree is required.
Licensed or licenseeligible at the master of social work level is required by the appointment date.
Applicants with practice and research in innovative areas of social work such as sport social work integrated behavioral and physical health and wellness positive aging and agefriendly communities and leadership and advocacy within an interdisciplinary perspective and scope will receive special consideration.
