General Summary
As a member of the Huron Regional Medical Centers senior management team the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will participate in the financial and functional decisionmaking processes necessary for the successful attainment of the hospitals mission in addition to maintaining an awareness of changes in healthcare matters that could have an impact on the success of the hospital. This position is accountable for planning developing implementing and administering financial control analysis operating systems internal control and establishing policies for the organization within defined hospital policies approved by the governing board and assuring these policies are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles tax regulations and existing federal and state laws.
Supportive Board of Directors currently working through Strategic Planning including a 5phase master facility plan update.

Experience with Revenue Cycle including a track record of success required.
Experience with new construction/renovation and project financing would be a plus.
Experience with physician contracting would be a plus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Overall financial operations of the acutecare (CAH) facility including accounting budgetary audits tax and other financial planning activities within the hospital organization.
Working with hospital directors and employees to develop and implement policies and procedures short and longrange goals objectives and efficiencies.
Providing financial leadership to hospital managers directors and officers that will enroll support create ownership of goals and encourage active participate in decisions that impact the hospital.
Ensuring the hospital meets necessary financial regulatory and compliance requirements.
Contributing financial expertise in the planning of new services that generate additional sources of profitable revenue.
Managing costs by continually seeking data that will identify opportunities and take action to eliminate nonvalue costs in conjunction with the hospitals Administrative Management Team.
Analyzing areas in planning promoting and conducting organizationwide performance improvement activities.
Attend hospital meetings including but not limited to medical staff board of directors and committee meetings as well as representing the hospital at relevant community meetings as needed.
Participating in the hospitals monthly operation reviews as well as participating in corporate office meetings as deemed necessary.
At the boards direction prepares financial pro forma information on capital projects. Ensures access to external debt markets or identifies other capital financial strategies appropriate to the circumstances.
Per governing board policy invests excess short/long term cash and/or investment portfolios to maximize the return on investment while maintaining the safety of the investments.
In conjunction with CEO ensures physician/provider contracts are current and meet current regulations such as Stark AntiKickback etc.
Other duties as required.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital staff and community.
Demonstrated ability to cope with and manage change maintain relationships with emotional maturity and selfmotivation.
Experience to include strategic oversight with an emphasis on financial reporting analysis and cash flow management.
Revenue cycle knowledge and problemsolving skills.
Public relations abilities.
Excellent verbal and listening skills.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with hospital staff and community.
Ability to maintain confidential information concerning personal financial or medical matters.
Work Experience Education and Certifications:
Previous CFO level or equivalent experience within an acute care (CAH) environment required.
Previous experience with a proprietary healthcare system preferred but not required.
Minimum 5 years financial/accounting progressive managerial experience in acutecare (CAH) environment with skills including business acumen strategic planning decision making in view of financial priorities and internal and external conditions.
Highly developed leadership interpersonal written and verbal communication skills.
CPA/MBA preferred.
Graduate degree in a minimum 4 year degree program in Business Finance or Accounting
Full Time
