GeoSpectrum is growing and has a new career opportunity for an experienced Software Technical Manager to lead our platform development team.
As the Software Technical Manager you will shape and execute the technical strategy ensuring out platform is reliable scalable and future ready. Youll be responsible for overseeing project delivery fostering team collaboration and acting as the bridge between the software team and other departments. Responsibilities
- Team Management: Lead and mentor a team of platform developers and architects ensuring alignment with the organizations goals and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement the technical strategy for the platform ensuring it meets current and future needs. This includes making decisions on architecture tools and technologies. Develop and drive platform/architecture roadmap in consultation with the team.
- Technical Leadership: Oversee the planning and delivery of platformrelated projects coordinating with other teams and stakeholders to ensure timely and successful outcomes.
- Quality Assurance: Ensure the platform is reliable scalable and performs well. This involves monitoring system performance troubleshooting issues and implementing improvements.
- Stakeholder Communication: Act as a liaison between the platform engineering team and other departments ensuring clear communication and understanding of platform capabilities and limitations.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest technological trends and integrate new tools and methodologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
- Problem Solving: Address and resolve technical issues that arise during the development process.
Qualifications
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Information Technology or equivalent experience.
- 15 years of professional software development experience.
- Proven experience as a Technical Manager or similar role in platform development.
- Strong technical background with expertise in platform architecture tools and technologies.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic plans.
- Commitment to maintaining highquality standards and continuous improvement.
- Experience in mentoring and supporting the professional growth of team members.
- Delivering value using Scrum and/or Kanban
- Familiarity with Kafka Redux or Elm or related valueoriented design frameworks with unidirectional dateflow architecture.
- Experience with C in embedded systems is preferred
- Experience with Sonar and/or Naval systems an asset
