Job Description

Position Summary
The Department of Central Eurasian Studies in the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies at Indiana University Bloomington seeks a nontenure track fulltime visiting lecturer in Kurdish language especially the Sorani dialect. The appointment begins August 1 2023. Initial contract will be for three years renewable each year after faculty review based on availability of funding. Successful applicant must demonstrate commitment to excellence in teaching public engagement and program development of Kurdish language within Indiana Universitys worldclass Central Eurasian Studies faculty as well as within the Hamilton Lugar School. Successful applicant will work closely with the Center for the Study of the Middle East and the Center for the Languages of the Central Asian Region (CeLCAR) to ensure the quality of curriculum design and to ensure timely creation of pedagogical materials. Successful applicant also will work closely with and provide the Center for the Study of the Middle East and the Inner Asian and Uralic National Resource Center with specific data for grant reporting and future applications. The position will begin August 1 2023.
