POSITION OVERVIEW

The Quality Engineer position develops & oversees a high performing Quality Assurance Team and works collaboratively with leadership operations employees and other functional areas to promote a productive and amicable work environment within our organization. This position develops implements & audits processes to ensure the delivery of the highest quality products to our customers. This position spends the majority of their time in Operational areas leading sharing their knowledge and developing processes to drive change & deliver Customer Satisfaction. This is a handson role located directly within the operational area but it has also the responsibility to communicate with customers and/or suppliers when quality issues happen.

Responsibilities:

Quality Systems & Processes to ensure delivery of outstanding customer quality. QA System development and maintenance. Assist to create and implement a quality vision strategy policies and procedures. Contribute to new business initiatives and projects by reviewing and communicating the impact on Quality activities specifically in relation to Operational Quality systems and their impact on Customer Quality Satisfaction.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Ensures a high level of internal and external customer service. Implements required containment actions rootcause analysis and corrective action measures to internal and external quality issues.
  • Delivers robust Corrective Action plans to internal quality improvement opportunities. Implements identified actions and audits performance.
  • Supports daily QA Department functions and personnel engaged in inspection activities to ensure high productivity and technical integrity of products and services.
  • Establishes and analyzes statistical data Key performance reports and product specifications to areas for improvement and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products.
  • Investigates customer complaints and is accountable for implementing corrective actions to ensure elimination of failure modes.
  • Monitors and ensures compliance of all relevant procedures described in the Quality Management System (QMS). Supports the Quality team with the development of process documentation.
  • Champions continuous improvement initiatives identification of business improvement opportunities and promotes a Quality focused culture.
  • Develops trains and initiates standards for inspection testing evaluation and other aspects of the Quality system.
  • Ensures that the departmental function operates in accordance with any health safety and environmental policies and procedures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of staff and visitors
  • Works collaboratively within the Operations team to drive accountability and deliver required improvement results.


Requirements

SKILLS EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or quality required or equivalent combination of experience and education.
  • At least five 5 years of experience working in a manufacturing or similar environment
  • Experience of ISO 9001 Systems implementation requirements. Ability to support the development of Processes and Procedures that will enable Site compliance during an audit to this standard.
  • Experience in Lean Six Sigma and other Quality manufacturing principles
  • Excellent leadership and management skills; Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work across a variety of crossfunctional teams
  • Excellent written and verbal skills
  • Excellent organizational and followup skills Must be able to read write and/or speak English. Spanish as an additional language is an advantage.
