The System Analyst III is our newest promotional opportunity for internal MSF employees to help drive strategic and innovative efforts that will result in an exceptional customer experience by providing technical leadership with an endtoend customer journey perspective.
The System Analyst III is responsible for independently and interdependently designing and conducting endtoend systems analyses problem solving and quality control processes to ensure software and hardware systems meet business expectations. They conduct technical analysis meet with customers to define business needs document detailed requirements and develop and implement solutions. Not only does the System Analyst III provide technical leadership in project teams but they are responsible for project development and ensuring milestones and deliverables are met as planned. They help ensure system changes meet specified requirements while maintaining overall system integrity. The System Analyst III supports and develops automation practices and solutions. In addition they proactively engage and act as a key liaison between the business and Enterprise Solutions in delivering exceptional solutions. This role will partner across departments to understand and adapt our system configuration and design to best suit our customer needs.
Required Skills
What you will do:
- Project management leadership: Leads and directs project management work by adhering to the Project Methodology standards in all phases of the software development life cycle for all Montana State Fund systems. Provides technical leadership for highly complex business solutions or applications. Leads project teams develops solution design identifies issues/risks escalates and resolves as appropriate.
- Customer Experience: Develop and maintain quality internal and external customer relationships focused on providing superior service meeting and managing expectations and being an effective business partner in executing on mission and vision. Be an expert on MSF applications systems and business processes.
- Technical expertise requirements elicitation software evaluations testing and automation:Provide technical expertise advice and mentoring to other Systems Analysts and IT professionals. Elicit functional and nonfunctional requirements analyze existing systems for improvements and partner on strategic solutions. Complete testing and coordinate user acceptance testing.
- Quality assurance programs: Lead and engage collaborative project teams while working closely with customers and information technology technicians to ensure products meet specified requirements and perform within acceptable user expectations. Executes assigned project tasks and applies quality control reviews to ensure products maintain overall system integrity; while proactively working with the business and developers ensure process efficiency data quality and/or metadata integrity. Define and document IT quality assurance processes and identify process improvements.
- Business solutions: Interprets and applies system solutions to business problems by developing and producing business queries and/or reports and/or business requirements for complex application/system changes and/or data analysis using MSF report writing tools and methodologies. Provides ongoing change management functions for all application and infrastructure changes. Recommends business process redesign where applicable.
Required Experience
What you will need (minimum qualifications):
Required:
- Bachelors degree plus five 5 years of directly related years of business systems analyst experience AND
- Relevant IT work experience that includes two 2 years in the insurance industry and one 1 Level 1 insurance certification (Claims Underwriting or Insurance Professional).
OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. - A minimum of two 2 years of directly related work experience utilizing MSF required technologies from the approved MSF Current Technologies document. Equivalent current technologies will also be considered.
- Candidates must be current MSF employees to be considered.
Preferred:
- Directly related workers compensation business related experience.
- Additional Relevant technical and/or insurance certifications preferred.
Compensation and Benefits:
Pay range 3C: Starting salary for the position begins at $88500$110600. The maximum pay is $132800 per year. This is an exempt position.
