Job Description
Title: CNC Operator
Summary
In this role you will be expected to plan and carry out daily CNC machining work plans based on shop and customer needs. You will work closely with engineers sales personnel and shop supervision/management to understand the needs of the customer and to meet delivery schedules.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- This job is demanding in terms of knowledge skills commitment and all other jobrelated qualifications. Urgency and pressure for prompt accurate results are routine. It requires the handling of multiple tasks with many unexpected interruptions. The job calls for the responsiveness and energy to work long hours and cover a wide scope without letting up on the pace. While training in certain specific equipment is offered the successful candidate must be diligent in learning on their own from time to time.
- Regular and predictable attendance is essential for this position.
- Plans machining jobs by reviewing work orders drawings material specifications etc.
- Programs mills by entering instructions including zero and reference points setting tool registers offsets compensation and conditional switches calculating requirements including basic geometry etc.
- Setsup mills by installing and adjusting three and fourjaw chucks tools attachments collets bushings cams gears stops and stock pushers indicating vices etc.
- Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.
- Verifies settings by measuring positions firstrun part and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.
- Maintains specifications by observing drilling grooving and cutting including turning facing knurling and threading operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes
- Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
- Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements following manufacturers instructions troubleshooting malfunctions etc.
- Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different request; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
- Assumes responsibility for communication efforts both internal to JHC and external to ensure that all parties/stakeholders have a clear understanding as to accuracy and timeliness requirements
- Assumes responsibility for the overall safety of the work environment. Responsible for ensuring compliance with company customer OSHA and other applicable standards. Perform Behavioral Safety Observations as needed. Ensures that work area is clean secure and well maintained
- Training/Mentoring A few of the activities in the area of Training/Mentoring will include but are not limited to: Assist in training/mentoring of new employees. Able to convey obtained knowledge from seminar/training sessions
- Able and willing to work oncall and off shift as required by customers or management
- Must be able to safely and effectively use basic hand tools and other shop equipment such as rotating cutting and pressurized equipment
- Ability to work independently in a fastpaced environment
- Available to work overtime including some weekends. Additionally technician may be on call in accordance with a predetermined and posted oncall schedule

Qualifications
Education
- High school graduate or equivalent. Technical Degree preferred.
Experience
- Ability to read engineering drawings and understand basic fabrication principles
- Minimum of 5 years in CNC operation and programing
- Extensive knowledge of CNC machining techniques and practices
- Ability to read / write basic G code functions
- Experience with HAAS CNC milling machines preferred
- 3 Years of experience with CNC software GibbsCam preferred
- In addition to CNC machining experience manual machining experience preferred

- Knowledge of 2D & 3D modeling software such as SolidWorks AutoCAD etc.
- Become and remain proficient in all programs necessary to perform the everyday duties of this position
