Job Description
As aSoftware Engineer II on our Transaction Auditing team you will design build and operate the systems that ensure pennyperfect accuracy reliability and compliance across Marqetas Transaction Domain. In this role you will be part of a small highimpact scrum team responsible for the infrastructure services and APIs that guarantee the correctness of all financiallyimpacting transactions at Marqeta.

The Impact Youll Have
- Design and implement highperformance solutions for largescale highvolume and highvelocity financial data and complex compliance landscapes.
- Develop the software and infrastructure to achieve repeatable and efficient highquality releases with automation seeking opportunities to replace redundant tasks and enhance engineering focus on strategic challenges.
- Debug critical production issues across services and different stack levels.
- Apply a detailoriented mindset to analyze data detect patterns and create wellorganized documentation for nontechnical audiences.
- Diagnose and resolve production issues across various services and system layers.
- Meticulously evaluate data identify patterns and communicate complex information clearly to nontechnical stakeholders.
Who You Are
- You have 3 years of industry experience in software development in Java serviceoriented architectures and cloud computing (AWS preferred).
- Experience developing in Java and Relational Database/SQL however we welcome experience in other languages.
- Ability to to develop and deliver clean readable and errorfree code with thorough documentation and testing.
- Ability to understand existing designs and technology choices and make appropriate adjustments when necessary.
- Ability to communicate in a clear concise and respectful manner both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to share relevant information including if difficult tasklevel tradeoffs that impact the product need to be made.
- The ability to demonstrate humility empathy and to take constructive feedback positively.
- A desire to grow in your career learn share ideas and help others grow and learn.
- The capacity to work productively on crossfunctional teams and take a collaborative team oriented approach.
NiceToHaves
- Experience with payments or the FinTech space
- Experience with Java Spring Boot
- Experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker
- Experience with big data analytics tools (i.e. Snowflake) and stream processing architectures
