Role Purpose:

As a Software Development Engineer IV (SDE IV) at Jumio you will play a critical role in designing and building scalable backend and frontend systems. As a senior individual contributor you will take ownership of complex features contribute to architectural decisions and mentor other engineers. Your focus will be on delivering highquality productionready software while embracing innovation and best practices in software engineering.

Youll collaborate closely with crossfunctional teams participate in architectural reviews and proactively identify areas for technical improvement testing and automation.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Design & Development:

• Own and lead the endtoend development of key features or services across backend and frontend.

• Collaborate with architects and leads to design scalable reliable and maintainable systems.

• Write clean modular and testable code following TDD design patterns and coding best practices.

• Ensure seamless integration between backend services and frontend applications.

Mentorship & Technical Leadership:

• Guide and mentor junior and midlevel engineers through code reviews pair programming and technical discussions.

• Champion engineering best practices such as peer reviews static code analysis and CI/CD hygiene.

• Help define coding standards and development workflows that align with Jumios quality expectations.

Innovation & Tooling:

• Leverage Large Language Models (LLMs) and AI tools to streamline development and testing workflows.

• Explore and propose new frameworks libraries or tooling that can improve team productivity and code quality.

Quality & Performance:

• Work closely with QA and SRE teams to ensure high performance availability and test coverage.

• Build and maintain automated test suites for functional integration and endtoend testing.

• Monitor production systems analyze performance metrics and proactively address bottlenecks.

CrossTeam Collaboration:

• Partner with Product Managers Designers and other engineers to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

• Participate in sprint planning estimation retrospectives and postmortems.

• Contribute to documentation design specs and engineering knowledge bases.

Skills & Qualifications

MustHave Skills:

• 7 years of experience in software development with strong backend skills (e.g. Java Spring Boot) and proficiency in frontend frameworks (e.g. React Angular).

• Deep knowledge of RESTful APIs microservices architecture and CI/CD pipelines.

• Handson experience with containerization (Docker) version control (Git) and Agile methodologies.

• Strong problemsolving debugging and performance optimization skills.

• Exposure to or interest in integrating LLMs/AI tools into engineering workflows.

NicetoHave Skills:

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS GCP or Azure.

• Familiarity with testing frameworks (e.g. JUnit Playwright Postman).

• Experience working in DevOpscentric environments and using infrastructureascode tools like Terraform.

• Understanding of secure coding practices and GDPRcompliant development.
