Desirable Qualifications
Experience and skill incorporating elements of diversity equity and inclusion into all areas of responsibility; Recent experience working with African American Asian/Pacific Islander Latinx Native American and other racially minoritized students in the classroom and an understanding of how historical patterns of exclusion of these groups in higher education shape patterns of participation and outcomes; Willingness to examine and remediate ones instructional relational and classroom practices to more effectively engage and support racially minoritized students; Related work and professional experience; License as a Professional Land Surveyor PLS Experience working with students of various cultural gender age socioeconomic and ethnic backgrounds students with disabilities; Demonstrated ability to work with computers and other technologies which are utilized in providing highquality instruction and support to students; Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with students and staff; Experience and skill with addressing issues of equity in the classroom; Preferred degrees in or experience in surveying or geomatics engineering; Classroom and laboratory teaching experience in college level engineering courses demonstrating the use of a variety of pedagogies and integrating educational technologies into classroom and laboratory instruction; Experience with design and implementation of innovative teaching methodologies based on engineering education research; Demonstrated ability to develop curriculum in emerging areas of engineering; Demonstrated ability to adapt instructional techniques to accommodate varied learning styles and a variety of teaching modalities including distance learning; Experience in the administration of course budgets including the selection of computers and software as well as other lab equipment and supplies for engineering courses; Capacity to contribute to the total operation of the instructional program including Department Division and State Center Community College responsibilities; Enthusiasm for teaching and assisting students to succeed; and Knowledge of the community college and its mission and goals.
Minimum Qualifications
All candidates must have evidence of responsiveness to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic cultural disability gender identity sexual orientation and ethnic backgrounds of community college students as these factors relate to the need for equityminded practice within the classroom; and Masters in any field of engineering ; or Bachelors in any of the above and Masters in mathematics physics computer science chemistry or geology; or A valid California Community College Credential; or The equivalent education and/or experience (requires an equivalency). Note: A bachelors in any field of engineering with a professional engineers license is an alternative qualification for this discipline.
