Job Description
CDL Driver
Summary:
Responsible for coordinating and transporting residents throughout campus to and from appointments and events in a safe and professional manner.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Must be able to safely and efficiently operate a passenger van shuttle van and bus.
- Must be able to communicate by telephone and in person in a clear courteous friendly and professional manner with residents guests coworkers and other persons.
- Must be able to read understand and complete driver trip sheets and read and understand interoffice communications schedules or other documents.
- Adhere to safe methods of assisting residents in and out of vehicles and buildings.
- Adhere to wheelchair safety procedures.
- Must track maintenance and repair needs for company vehicles communicate needs with maintenance and schedule appointments for necessary maintenance of vehicles.
- Complete all other related duties as requested by the Assistant Director.
Minimum Education/Skills/Experience/Credentials:
- Must possess an active Commercial Drivers License (CDL) with passenger endorsement Required.
- Must maintain a clean moving vehicle record per DOT standards.
- Must pass yearly DOT physical for CDL renewal.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Good interpersonal relations with proven communication skills both verbal and written.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to sit for 34 hours during an 8hour shift.
- Must be able to stand and walk for 34 hours during an 8hour shift.
- Must be able to frequently lift 10 to 25 pounds while walking or bending at the waist and knees.
- Must be able to frequently push pull or move carts and wheelchairs exerting a force of 50 to 100 pounds.
- Must be able to use wrists fingers and hands for repetitive firm grasping driving a vehicle and operating a computer and telephone.
Other federally regulated requirements:
- Must be willing to undergo preemployment background check including (MVR) moving vehicle records.
- Must have or be willing to receive the FluShot Vaccine and TB testing.
- Must be willing to undergo preemployment drug screening including cannabis.
- Must be willing to undergo biometric screening.
