Botanic Gardens of Sydney is the organisation working on behalf of the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust which is established under the Royal Botanic Gardens and Domain Trust Act 1980. The organisation encompasses Australias premier botanical research institute Sydneys leading outdoor live entertainment and activation precinct and three worldleading botanic gardens and international tourism destinations.

The role

The Venue Sales Manager at the Royal Botanic Garden and Domain drives venues hire sales implements effective event sales and business development strategies to grow sales in the corporate and private event hire market and provide exceptional customer service to all community industry and stakeholder groups for The Botanic Gardens of Sydney.

What you will bring to the role

Our Venue Sales Manager provides outstanding customer relationship management including maintaining proactive working relationships with stakeholders and service providers to balance competing needs and achieve strategic and operational objectives.

You will liaise and negotiate with clients and stakeholders regarding compliance with conditions of use and hire of venues to ensure functions events weddings or bookings are coordinated to fulfil the needs of the stakeholders and have a minimal impact on the collections and lands.

With up to four direct reports you may be required to supervise additional venue management staff and undertake a range of financial and administration activities including monitoring and reporting on income and expenditure processing purchase orders and invoices issuing receipts negotiating and contract preparation and thorough records management. You will be able to demonstrate experience with providing input to reviews of fees and charges in order to contribute to the preparation and management of the budget.

One of our events on the calendar is New Years Eve so be prepared to provide support and onsite operational management New Years Eve events across the Botanic Garden of Sydney.
