Overview

Yokogawa provides advanced technologies and services in the areas of measurement control and information to customers across a broad range of industries including energy chemicals materials pharmaceuticals food and water. We are looking for a Manufacturing Engineer to help us maintain and further develop our quality products and processes.

Job Summary

The function of the Local Manufacturing & Design Engineering group is to expand the Yokogawa product business by leading the implementation of new local products through local manufacturing (LM) and design while facilitating strong communication with our headquarters (YHQ) Product Management (PMG) and affiliates. There are four main product lines which the group supports: Analytical Controllers/Recorders Flow and Transmitters.

This role is a combination of manufacturing and design engineering. You will be tasked with creation and maintenance of product drawings and BOMs developing procedures maintaining product compliance and supporting the manufacturing lines. Reports to Local Manufacturing & Design Engineering Manager.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain manufacturing documentation for all LM products to ensure they meet global product manufacturing specifications.
  • Manage budget schedule production preparation meetings and approval process for local manufacturing projects as assigned.
  • Work with project team to ensure tasks are appointed and completed within project schedule.
  • Conduct project meetings with regular cadence to keep all members and stakeholders updated with status and action items.
  • Participate in designing new local products.This includes but is not limited to drawings BOMs procedures prototyping testing and certifications.
  • Check and approve drawings as required.
  • Communicate with external vendors to source new or alternate parts as needed.
  • Estimate costs and create required documentation for special orders (Tokuchus).
  • Support the reduction of manufacturing costs through design or process changes implementation of equipment and other creative solutions.
  • Assist in continuous improvements to meet safety quality cost and delivery requirements.
  • Responsible for uncompromising quality to all work processes in designated area of responsibility. Has the authority to stop said processes any time quality is believed to be compromised.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Strong CAD skills 2D (AutoCAD or DraftSight) and 3D (SOLIDWORKS).
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (specifically Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Must be a selfstarter able to work alone on tasks and willing to ask questions.
  • Effective communication (written and oral) to technical and nontechnical audiences.
  • Comfortable interfacing with many different individuals and demonstrate cooperation and interaction across stakeholders.
  • Ability to receive constructive feedback and/or coaching and respond appropriately.

Other Skills:

(Preferred but not required)

  • Experience with hazardous location requirements and ratings.
  • Knowledge of process related standards (ASTM ANSI NFPA etc..

Education & Experience:

  • BS degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology.
  • Previous experience 1 to 5 years) in a manufacturing environment or in design work is preferred but not required.

Work Environment:

  • Work performed in office environment 70 and manufacturing facility 30.
  • Time spent in manufacturing is often related to establishing new products.
  • Will require attending meetings with international members (headquarters and affiliates) outside normal operating business hours.

Physical Demand:

  • The employee must be able to sit stand and walk for a reasonable amount of time.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 50 pounds.
