Position: Shop Manager Full Time Department: Track and Tire Leasing LLC. Duties & Responsibilities: - Responsible for supervisory functions and personnel management; this may include assisting in mechanical issues administrative functions such as inventory and budgets and assisting employees with workrelated issues.
- Manages daily floorlevel shop operations; this may include coordinating inservice of vehicles and equipment and providing reports reviewing all repair orders ensuring equipment readiness and safety compliance.
- Oversees all maintenance and repair activities for vehicles and equipment ensuring timely and efficient completion.
- Performs daily fleet inspections and addresses issues to ensure equipment readiness
- Works with mechanics to identify and diagnose the cause of vehicle and equipment breakdowns and provides efficient solutions.
- Provides daily reports of all out of service equipment to management of appropriate divisions.
- Generates and reviews all maintenance reports and repair orders for all vehicles and equipment
- Creates and maintains a clean safe work environment. Adheres to all safety requirements particular to the vehicles and equipment including Federal Motor Carrier Safety and OSHA Regulations
- Implements and maintains quality control systems to ensure a high performing and efficient fleet
- Manages administrative functions such as inventory and budgets this includes ensuring sufficient stock of parts inventory to meet shop needs and tracking expenses.
- Meets with staff to ensure consistency with company policies and procedures
- Responds to driver and mechanic issues and provides prompt solutions
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as a team
- Ability to multitask and work in a fastpaced environment
- Perform any other duties as assigned
Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in related field or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 4 years experience in shop or working with trucks required
- Valid drivers license IL CDL ClassA is preferred
- Clean driving record with no moving violations
- Clean background check and drug test
- Familiarity with various types of trucks and trailers
- Understanding of all maintenance sections of the FMCSA and OSHA regulations
- Demonstrates strong interpersonal skills and the ability to communicate effectively both written and verbally.
- Demonstrates strong personnel management skills
- Diligent attention to detail and safety
- Demonstrates strong problemsolving skills and the ability to process information with high levels of accuracy
Benefits: - Starting pay is $80$100K / year
- Pay is determined by experience skill education and other factors
