The Role: Senior Database Developer
The Team: The OSTTRA Technology teamis composed of Capital Markets Technology professionals who buildsupportand protect the applications that operate our network. Our services are vital to automated trade processing around the globe managing peak volumes and working with our customers and regulators to ensure the efficient settlement of trades and effective operation of global capital markets.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in PostgreSQL database development query optimization and performance tuning. This role involves designing implementing and maintaining scalable database solutions to support highperformance is an excellent opportunity to be part of a team based out of Gurgaon and to work with colleagues across multiple regions globally.
Key Responsibilities
Database Development:
Design develop and optimize PostgreSQL database schemas functions and stored procedures.
Write complex SQL queries triggers and PL/pgSQL functions.
Implement indexing strategies partitioning and sharding where required.
Performance Tuning & Optimization:
Analyze slow queries and improve database performance and other tuning techniques.
Optimize database indexing query plans and caching strategies.
Identify and resolve bottlenecks in largescale PostgreSQL databases.
Data Management & Security
Collaboration & Troubleshooting:
Work closely with developers to design efficient database schemas.
Collaborate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to ensure database scalability and performance.
Troubleshoot databaserelated issues and provide solutions in a timely manner.
What Were Looking For:
7 years of experience in database development with a focus on PostgreSQL.
Indepth knowledge of SQL tuning query optimization and indexing techniques.
Handson experience with PL/pgSQL functions triggers and stored procedures.
Experience in database partitioning replication (logical/physical) and clustering.
Proficiency in database performance monitoring tools (e.g. pgstatstatements EXPLAIN ANALYZE).
Experience with database migrations and upgrades.
Strong knowledge of JSONB CTEs and parallel query in PostgreSQL.
Exposure to AWS RDS Google AlloyDB or other cloudbased PostgreSQL solutions is a plus.
Familiarity with NoSQL integration (e.g. Redis ElasticSearch) is a plus.
Experience in scripting languages like Python Shell or SQL scripting is a plus.
