Job Description
Lifesteps is hiring several FullTime or Parttime Childcare Assistants to work at the Daycare and Preschool in Beaver PA.
Lifesteps is a nonprofit human services organization which has been serving Western Pennsylvania for over 100 years by helping individuals and families with lifes changing needs. The Agency provides programs and services to help those with special needs live to their fullest potential. Child Care staff(also known as Assistant Group Supervisors) work an 8 hour shift Monday through Friday daylight hours with No Weekends and No Holidays. Parttime staff can work 6 to 8 hours several days per week. Flexible scheduling is available for parttime.
Job duties include:
- the care and supervision of children ages 6 weeks to 5 years old
- assisting with lesson planning and creating fun activities
- supervising indoor and outdoor play time
- inform parents about the childs day
- Nurture and cuddle the infants and teach the preschool age children

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required:
- High School Diploma/GED and two years of experience working with children can be paid or unpaid work such as Summer Camps Church Nursery Babysitting Bible School Volunteering with children etc.
- Ability to lift or move up to 30 pounds without assistance
- Ability to provide acceptable state and FBI clearances
- Able to multitask and work in a team environment.
Preferred:
- Bachelors Degree in Early Childhood Education Child Development Special Education Elementary Education or Human Services field OR
- Associates Degree in the above majors or Psychology Criminal Justice Art Therapy Dance Therapy Rehabilitation etc.
