Job Description

Are you a seasoned engineering leader passionate about building and maintaining innovative products We are seeking a dedicated Manager Software Engineering to join our dynamic team. As part of a small team of crossfunctional engineers you will play a crucial role in enhancing the stability reliability and efficiency of our product portfolio. By collaborating closely with a dedicated Product Manager you will plan and execute the development of cuttingedge solutions that drive our mission forward.

This is a hybrid opportunity inMississauga ON. This role is called Manager Product Engineering internally.

What you get to do every day

    • Lead the team in achieving established goals and departmental objectives.

    • Contribute to roadmap development and releases.
    • Contribute to the code and architecture of a highly concurrent highthroughput system on the AWS cloud.
    • Work with other engineering teams via Guilds of functional skill sets (BackEnd FrontEnd Security QA Agile) to develop departmental standards for those functions.
    • Plan balance and execute sprints containing bug fixes feature requests and new product development.
    • Help maintain product roadmaps for the teams portfolio of products along with the Product Manager.
    • Develop a strong understanding of the products in the engineering teams portfolio and be able to act a resource for questions about all aspects of those products
    • Ensure that any necessary documentation is written and maintained by the engineering team.
    • Hire train coach mentor and develop staff including conducting performance reviews and providing constructive feedback.
    • Participate in oncall rotations in accordance with team requirements.

What skills do you need

    • Bachelors degreeor equivalent experience in Computer Science Engineering or Quality Assurance.
    • 810 yearsof experience in Software Engineering Quality Assurance Cloud Infrastructure or DevOps roles.
    • 12 yearsof experience leading a team or complex projects.
    • Experience with Cloud Services(AWS GCP Azure PCF etc. is required; experience with Amazon AWS services (EC2 RDS S3 SQS) is preferred.
    • Proficiency in JavaScript Java .NET technologiesor a testing automation language is required; proficiency in React Spring or Selenium is preferred.
    • Proficiency with Linuxbased systems.
    • Proficiency in Cloudbased architectures.
    • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines Kubernetes and Docker.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skillsand the ability to maintain a high degree of professionalism in all communications.
    • Leadership and management skills the ability to attract retain motivate mentor and develop team members to perform at their highest potential.
