Job Description

Position: Bilingual Hospice Social Worker (Spanish English)

Location: Benton and Franklin Counties Washington State

Type: FullTime NonExempt

Anticipated Schedule: Five days per week 8 AM to 4:30 PM with a rotating weekend schedule (Sunday through Saturday)


Compensation


Hiring Range: $33.00/hour $39.69/hour

Position Pay Range: $33.00/hour $47.42/hour


Premiums:

  • $2.50/hour Weeknight
  • $2.25/hour Weekend Day
  • $4.75/hour Weekend Night
  • $4.00/hour On Call Standby

Position Overview:


Under the supervision of the Social Work Supervisor or the Director of Community Care the Bilingual Hospice Social Worker (MSW) is responsible for the delivery of varied social work services to Hospice patients and their families in homes facilities and at Hospice House. The Bilingual Hospice Social Worker requires fluency in both written and spoken Spanish to effectively support Spanishspeaking patients and families ensuring they have equitable access to hospice services resources and culturally competent care. Additionally this position provides initial biopsychosocial evaluations ongoing psychosocial support direct case management services bereavement services and community education outreach and referral. The Hospice Social Worker (MSW) is an integral part of the Hospice interdisciplinary team.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters Degree in Social Work from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.
  • One 1 year of posteducation social work experience in a health care or hospice setting. Ref: CFR 418.114 and RCW 18.320.010
  • Demonstrated ability in case management counseling and group work.
  • Ability to work flexible hours such as occasional evenings weekends holidays and overtime as needed for patient care and operational needs.
  • Fluent in both written and spoken Spanish to effectively communicate with Spanishspeaking patients and families.
  • Must obtain verification of bilingual proficiency or qualification through an approved assessment within three 3 months of hire.
  • This position is designated as safetysensitive and will require preemployment drug testing which includes cannabis testing in WA State.

  • Experience in a hospice or healthcare setting.
  • Experience in assisting clients and patients navigate benefits systems such as the Department of Veterans Affairs Medicaid COPES and others.

Hiring Range: The starting pay range offered to new hires depending on experience and qualifications.

Position Pay Range/Salary Range: The full pay range for this position from minimum to maximum is based on role responsibilities and market rates.

  • Transportation: Maintain reliable personal transportation. Maintain a valid drivers license and vehicle insurance per state requirements.
  • Health Requirements: Satisfy state and agency health requirements by providing proof of immunization declinations or approved accommodations as applicable.
  • Screenings: Pass criminal background and drug screenings.
  • Physical Demands: Meet the physical and environmental requirements of the position with or without reasonable accommodation.(see attached physical requirements)
  • Training and Orientation: Complete agency and departmental orientation and required training programs.
  • Continuing Education: Complete ongoing education policy reviews and training be designated deadlines.
  • Licensure and Certification: Maintain current licensure(s) and certifications(s) required for the role.
