FPA Manager Personal Loans

The Team

The FP&A team at Upstart plays an integral part in the companys business and financial planning process. We are looking for a highly motivated and hardworking individual to join our team to support our Personal Loan product with an emphasis on Lending Partnerships organization.

As aFinance Manager at Upstart you will drive and support all aspects of FP&A which includes indepth financial and business planning collaborating with business leaders across the company and driving analyses for business and strategic cases. Through your efforts well be able to ensure the Upstart leadership team stays on top of our financial performance and risks. How youll make an impact:

• Primary finance lead responsible for marketplace management for Upstarts Core product Personal Loans
• Partner and collaborate with Analytics Investor Services and Lending Partnership teams in planning and managing the strategic direction for Personal Loan
• Develop comprehensive financial models to assess financial impact of marketplace management decisions providing actionable insights to optimize performance and strategic outcomes
• Support financial analysis for new and existing pricing initiatives and build key metrics analysis
• Serve as the primary finance partner to the Lending Partnerships vertical team overseeing their P&L management including revenue operating expenses and profitability across all Upstart products
• Create reports and dashboards in BI tools to monitor financial trends and relevant metrics and report on key insights
• Support monthend and quarterend processes working closely with Accounting to understand key variances summarize and present the results to the Finance Leadership
• Prepare executive summaries with monthly results and key stats and communicate findings of monthly budget analysis to functional leadership
• Support key corporate financial deliverables as needed such as earnings preparation and monthly business reviews

What were looking for:

• Minimum qualifications:
• BS/MS Degree in Economics Finance Computer Science Statistics or equivalent practical experience
• Minimum of 7 years of relevant FP&A/investment banking/corporate finance experiences
• Highly competent in Excel and/or Google Sheets: excellent modeling skills and ability to perform complex analyses with big data sets required
• Proven track record in demonstrating welldeveloped strategic analytical interpersonal organizational and communications skills
• Excellent presentation skills and comfort in communicating with multiple levels of leadership
• Proven ability to learn quickly work independently and adapt to change in a fastpaced environment
• Organized and proven ability to juggle multiple tasks while still meeting deadlines

• Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience with NetSuite and other FP&A tools such as Adaptive
  • Experience with BI/reporting tools such as Looker or Tableau or Mode
  • Experience with advanced data analytics tools such as SQL Python or R
  • Previous consumer marketplace lending industry experience

Position Location Remote

Time Zone Requirements This team operates on the East/West Coast time zones.

Travel Requirements As a digital first company the majority of your work can be accomplished remotely. The majority of our employees can live and work anywhere in the U.S but are encouraged to to still spend high quality time inperson collaborating via regular onsites. The inperson sessions cadence varies depending on the team and role; most teams meet once or twice per quarter for 24 consecutive days at a time.
