L&Is Division of Occupational Safety and Health (DOSH)administers the Washington Industrial Safety and Health Act (WISHA) law by developing and enforcing rules that protect workers from hazardous job conditions. Our inspectors visit about 5000 workplaces each year and cite businesses that violate health and safety rules.
The Administrative Regulations Analyst 4 (ARA4 serving as the DOSH Operations Policy Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that all DOSH Directives and policy manuals align with or exceed the standards set by the Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). These policies and procedures have statewide relevance impacting DOSH staff employers and employees across Washington. The ARA4 ensures that all rulemaking petitions submitted to DOSH are thoroughly evaluated with decisions to implement new rules carefully documented and issued in accordance with the timelines outlined in Chapter 34.05 RCW Administrative Procedures Act.Additionally this position oversees nonmonetary compliance contracts between DOSH and other agencies.
This ARA4 collaborates with DOSH leadership and various programs to support and complete tasks related to the legislative session including bill and financial analysis assisting with the implementation of new legislation and preparing agencyrequested legislation.
This role also provides guidance to DOSH leadership on updating and developing policies and procedures to ensure ongoing compliance with OSHA standards. This work involves facilitating both inperson and virtual meetings routing documents for internal review and approval establishing deadlines and timelines and following up to ensure timely completion. The ARA4 also engages with external stakeholders to gather feedback on proposed updates to DOSH manuals and directives.

For this position telework is permitted full time with the requirement to report to the office for periodic meetings. The assigned duty station for this position is Tumwater WA.
