Security Guard Weekday 3rdshift

WEEKLY PAY

Pay Rate: $23.11 per hour plus shift differential

Status: NonExempt (Hourly)

Basic Function

The Security Guard is responsible for ensuring the plant and property is secure through surveillance of all people and activities


Organizational Relationships
Reports to: Director of Compliance and Security David Atherton
Supervises: This position has no direct reports

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Complete periodic interior and exterior patrols of plant and office areas.

  • Monitor surveillance system.
  • Monitor and test alarm system.
  • Report all suspicious activity to the appropriate parties.
  • Monitor weather when conditions are favorable for severe storms.
  • Ensure all contractors and visitors are logged in and following proper protocol.
  • Check in inbound truck shipments and assist truck drivers.
  • Assist in an emergency evacuation and using the Emergency Action Plan.
  • Make card reader badges for employees as required during their designated shifts.
  • Process trucks for shipping and receiving on weekends and when requested by management.
  • Distribute personal protective equipment to employees/guests at the Main Plant.
  • Answer Algood main phone line during off business hours.
  • Physical attendance is required.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Communicate with coworkers management clients and others in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations policies work procedures and instructions.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

  • Mental and Physical Requirements
    Ability to maintain considerable concentration with frequent time pressures and interruptions.
  • Ability to maintain visual attention for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally sit or stand for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to occasionally lift or carry minimal weights up to 60 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally reach squat kneel climb push or pull.
  • Ability to work flexible or extended hours with little or no notice.
  • Ability to speak read and write in the English language. Ability to analyze and interpret common instructions and schedules.
  • Ability to add subtract multiply and divide all units of measure.
  • Ability to apply common sense and understanding to carry out instructions or procedures furnished in written oral or diagrammatic form. Ability to deal with problems that arise on a daytoday basis.
  • Ability to manipulate necessary office equipment computer software hardware and equipment.

Qualifications

  • Education Experience and Training
    Requires a High School Diploma/GED
  • A minimum of three years of experience in security/surveillance required.
  • CPR/First Aid and AED training preferred.
  • HACCP and SQF training required.
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and an understanding of other software webbased applications and Internet search functions preferred.
