Job Description:
The Psychologist will play a key role in providing psychological assessment diagnosis and treatment to patients with severe mental illness. The incumbent will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop treatment plans to support patient recovery and rehabilitation.
Lead treatment teams medical staff and various hospital committees.
Provide consultation to staff on behavioral strategies and treatment plans.
Conduct psychological evaluations including assessments of intellectual ability personality and risk factors such as elopement suicide violence and reoffense.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Provide individual and group therapy.
Assist in program development and policy improvement.
Deliver staff training on psychological best practices and risk management techniques.
Provide expert testimony for mental health board hearings.
Collaborate with the Psychiatry team to determine patient diagnoses.
Minimum Qualifications: Doctorate in Psychology. Licensed to practice psychology in Nebraska or eligible for a provisional license.
Preferred Qualifications:
One year of postdoctorate experience.
Experience working with patients with severe mental illness.
Salary: $60.00/hour (Licensed) $55.28/hour (Provisionally Licensed)
Work Schedule: Monday Friday 8:00 a.m. 5:00 p.m.; occasional weekend shifts may be required.
Expertise in psychological assessments and risk evaluation measures.
Strong collaboration skills with an interdisciplinary team.
Ability to develop and implement psychological treatment programs.
Understanding of the Nebraska Mental Health Commitment Act.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
