Job Title:Band 8a Clinical Psychologist
Band: 8a
Location: Preston Lancashire
Working Hours:37.5

An exciting new opportunity has been made available for a Band 8a Clinical Psychologist to join our esteemed NHS clients dynamic team in Preston Lancashire. This role is for a Clinical Psychologist. This vacancy is available on a locum basis for the successful candidate to start immediately for a shortterm contract. This vacancy offers competitive rates.

What will your responsibilities be

You will be expected to provide a highly specialist psychology service to Community Forensic Services including specialist assessment treatment planning implementation and monitoring of outcomes. You will contribute to enabling other staff service users and carers from diverse backgrounds to flourish by working to create a psychologically safe environment. You will provide clinical supervision and consultation as appropriate functioning as a lead specialist in forensic clinical psychology. You will be required to undertake service evaluation audit and research. You will work as an autonomous professional within registration body guidelines and codes of conduct and guided by principles and policies or procedures of the service taking responsibility for interpreting policies within defined parameters.

Qualifications and Experiences:

  • Have a university degree or diploma (QQ1 level 8 equivalent) obtained in which Psychology was taken as a major subject and honours obtained in that subject and have an Irish postgraduate professional psychology qualification accredited by the Psychological Society of Ireland in Clinical or Counselling Psychology or an equivalent qualification in Clinical or Counselling Psychology from another jurisdiction validated by the Department of Health. Please provide written proof of validation with application.
  • A minimum of 5 years satisfactory postgraduate experience in professional psychology no more than three years of which is spent in gaining the postgraduate professional qualification and no less than two years fulltime spent in postqualification experience as a professional.
  • Must be eligible to work in Ireland.
  • Full Clean License and access to own vehicle.
