As a renowned leader in jet engines Pratt & Whitney continually strives to maintain a world class safety record. The Military Engines (ME) Safety Team part of Engineering Product Integrity (EPI) is seeking a highly motivated individual to lead the assessment and management of flight safety related issues for one or more ME Programs. This position is a good fit for an individual who is looking to explore a leadership role in the safety discipline and enjoys or is seeking exposure to a variety of topics spanning all engine hardware/modules.
What You Will Do:
Safety Lead will be the face of an engine program for all things safety
Work with the Program Chief Engineers (PCE) to facilitate successful safety issue management process including Internal Safety Reviews along with management and coordination of safety issue progression in PWs Safety Issue Management (SIM) tracking databases.
Support P&W Safety Board presentations on topics impacting the Mature programs
Communicate with external customers on current safety topics
Host or participate in Safety Risk Analysis (SRA) meetings and assumptions reviews and conduct basic SRAs as needed.
Maintain the program specific knowledge base for Safety Risk Analyses including fleet assumptions and key points of contact.
Coordinate with technical experts across P&W to support development of qualitative and quantitative risk assessments.
Understand execute and advocate for the PW and RTX Safety Management System (SMS) process.
Qualifications You Must Have:
Bachelors Degree in STEM related field
8 years of experience with aircraft turbine engine operation design or maintenanceor 5 years experience with an advanced degree
Must be a U.S. Citizen. This position may require access to systems/tools that are restricted to individuals who possess US citizenship.
Qualifications We Prefer:
Demonstrate leadership capabilities as an integrator or within another teamoriented role
Strong analytical background including familiarity with engine hardware and systems.
Effective listening and written/verbal communication skills including experience working with or presenting to various levels of leadership
Some knowledge of computer programming or code writing
Familiar with aspects of a safety processes.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 101000 USD 203000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
