Position Summary

The program provides comprehensive services designed to support healthy families empowered individuals and thriving communities through highquality early learning and familycentered opportunities. This is located in Buckley.

Throughout the onboarding process you will meet with the Supervisors and teams regularly to discuss expectations set goals identify priorities and gain familiarity with current policies procedures and strategic measures. Continued employment is contingent upon job performance/evaluation continued funding of the program and other appropriate County procedures.
Core Daily Responsibilities:
- Assist the Educator in the supervision and promotion of activities designed to enhance the healthy emotional social intellectual and physical development of children enrolled.
- Assist the Educator in the daily educational procedures planning and setup within the classroom all areas of individualized curriculum meals small and group projects free time outside activities etc.
- Interact positively with all children to support their individual learning and meet their educational physical and emotional needs.
- Supervise and engage in all childrens activities to ensure safety at all times.
- Work with the Educator to prepare and organize the classroom and classroom materials.
- Perform daily light classroom cleaning to maintain a neat and organized classroom.

Qualifications
- One year of successful relevant work experience in a preschool or childcare setting and a current Child Development Associate (CDA) credential awarded by the Council for Early Childhood Professional Recognition; or
- Twelve college quarter credits in early childhood education. College credit must be earned from an accredited institution of higher education.
- Experience may be accepted in lieu of education requirements with a professional development plan.
- Possible hire on Professional Development Plan obtaining minimum requirements within a designated time frame.
Special Requirements and/or Qualifications:
- A valid Washington State drivers license may be required when travel is required for the position.
- Pediatric First Aide/CPR card and Food Handlers permit must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
- TB skin test or for those individuals with a positive skin test a statement from a doctor or chest xray must be furnished upon hire.
- Proof of MMR or immunity.
- A criminal history check including fingerprints is required prior to hire.
- Successfully complete a Portable Background Check through the Department of Children Youth and Families prior to your first day of employment.
As a condition of employment the applicant will need to authorize and complete a background check. Information received from the background check is reviewed casebycase and will not necessarily remove an applicant from consideration.
