At GetYourGuide (GYG) were looking for a passionate Data Scientist to join our Traveler Data Products Team. In this role youll have the opportunity to make a significant impact on our product and our customers experiences. Youll work with a vast and diverse set of structured and unstructured data powering various data products such as search recommendations SEM and incentives. Our team has touchpoints across the business developing endtoend solutions that directly contribute to creating memorable travel experiences for people around the world.

Our mission is to make our vast inventory accessible and relevant by tailoring it to individual interests extracting valuable insights from product descriptions and customizing page layouts to meet our users unique needs. We are also at the forefront of exploring how Large Language Models (LLMs) can accelerate the discovery of relevant products ensuring a seamless and enriching customer journey.
As a valued member of our inclusive and dynamic team you will collaborate closely with fellow Data Scientists and MLOps Engineers continuously innovating to enhance the relevance and personalization of the products we display. Together we strive to make every travel experience unforgettable.
You will:
- Develop innovative data products that not only delight our customers but also drive the success of our company.
- Take full ownership of projects guiding them from the initial business challenge to the deployment of production code. This includes:
- Contribute to the development of our machine learning infrastructure and help establish best practices that will shape our future.
- Work closely with crossfunctional teams leveraging your unique perspective to solve complex and exciting problems.
- Support the continuous improvement and growth of our team including participating in recruiting efforts to bring in new talent.
Who you are
Ideal candidates will have 2 years experience in a full time role covering most of the following areas:
- Machine Learning Familiarity with regressors classifiers and recommender systems. A solid understanding of ML techniques and their practical applications. Experience deploying ML models in production is a plus.
- Software Engineering Proficiency in Python. Knowledge of distributed machine learning and computing frameworks (e.g. Spark) is beneficial.
- Analytics Ability to transform data into actionable insights. Experience with hypothesis testing and proficiency in analytics tools (e.g. pandas R) and SQL.
- Business Acumen Applied experience in a business environment demonstrating resultdriven work.
- Academic Background An advanced degree in a quantitative field or equivalent practical experience.
- Communication Strong skills in explaining complex concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
