Hourly Job Order Rate of Pay: $25.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application)
These positions will be assigned to the Department of Public Safety Emergency Management. The role of these positions is to advocate on behalf of the Individual Assistance applicants (individuals and families) to ensure survivors are provided resource availability of state federal and nongovernmental organizations for housing assistance and addressing personal property loss. Additionally these positions are responsible for resolving issues between the survivor and FEMA and bring any unresolved issues/concerns to the Individual Assistance Program Manager. Employees will plan and prioritize tasks and meet deadlines while working with minimal supervision. Positions will work and concentrate in an open area environment at the FEMA Joint Field Office (JFO).Positions require deployment to disaster areas for extended periods and overnight travel may require twelve 12 hour shift work weekend/holiday duty and excessive overtime during recovery periods. JFO may be located outside the Raleigh area for an extended period. May be cross trained in other Recovery programs Public Assistance Grants Manager and or Disaster Recovery Center. Perform other duties as assigned.

Bachelors degree in sociology psychology political science business administration public administration or related field from an appropriately accredited institution and three years of experience related to the specific program assignment; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Management Preferences: Knowledge of emergency and disaster management protocols and infrastructure recovery project management; fluent bilingual skills (English/Spanish)
