Salary Range: $65000 $75000 based on experience.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Oversees operators in safely operating a fork truck a full/oversized pickup truck and an oversized flatbed truck to perform required logistical functions.
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for shipping and invoice operations which includes:
o Arranging outside driving services as needed for shipping needs.
o Planning and coordinating receiving of incoming deliveries
o Checks loading patterns of finished goods for neat stacking banding and undamaged product.
o Prepares bills of lading for shipment to customers obtaining optimum freight rates handling of lessthantruckload (LTL) shipments etc.
o Selects shipments for invoicing and distributes daily invoicing file
The Shipping Supervisor will oversee the yard maintenance.
The Shipping Supervisor will perform the logistics coordinators task as a backup when they are out of the office.
The Shipping Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe work environment at all times and must wear all prescribed Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing the assigned tasks and stop work immediately in the event of a nonconformance.
The Shipping Supervisor must report to their supervisor immediately any unsafe act or condition that requires corrective action.
Must practices 5S within their defined work area returns all common tools to their proper place when not in use and cleans the assigned work area once all work has been completed; the work area must be cleared of all debris and in the event a tool does not have an assigned home place the Shipping Supervisor will consult their coworkers and supervisor to establish one.
As an individual and part of a team strives to support continuous improvement across their personal tasks the tasks of the materials department as well as all facets of the business as a whole organization.
Perform simple and routine maintenance to ensure that all equipment and tools remain safe and fully operational; in the event a piece of equipment is in an unsafe condition the equipment should be immediately locked out and a supervisor notified.
Performs other duties as instructed by the Operations Manager or Plant Manager.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
High school or equivalent preferred.
Experience operating large forklifts and loading commercial over the road trucks.
Knowledge of truck freight rates.
Microsoft Outlook Word & Excel experience a plus.
Supervisory experience a plus.
Attention to detail and care is required to prevent injury to self and others particularly when performing maintenance tasks and operating equipment.
Must be able to maintain accurate records and perform basic mathematical operations.
Physical and Work Environment Requirements:
Employee must be able to frequently sit stand and walk.
Employee must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Employee must be able to occasionally push and pull
