Job Description

Job Summary:

Ensures accurate cyclical payments to all employees based upon inputs of varying complexity from key departments and time collection and reporting systems. Prepares monthly payrollrelated journal entries to the general ledger for payroll transactions and creates payments to external agencies. Collaborates closely with HR personnel and provides excellent customer service to all staff. Provides documentation in support of various audits and assists in the testing installation and implementation of software applications and services.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Prepares and processes payments to all employees at the Foundation on a semimonthly basis and ensures accuracy based upon inputs from key departments and time collection and reporting systems. Provides payroll related information and reports to work unit managers and other internal customers and compiles statistical reports and or payments for external agencies as mandated by law.60
  • Supports financial tax workers comp and Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) pension plan audits by providing transactionbased documentation. Maintains an uptodate practical knowledge of all types of compensation and various fringe benefits. Works with the HR/PR vendor to ensure appropriate treatment of tax withholdings deductions earnings and requirements from local jurisdictions.10
  • Prepares journal entries for payroll transactions and employee leave accruals which all have a direct impact on the Foundations financial statements and performance against budget. Processes employee garnishments tax levies and child support withholding court orders. Makes appropriate payments to court appointed trustees.10
  • Interfaces regularly with Human Resources to ensure accurate payment to employees on family medical leave short and longterm disability bonuses interim positions fringe benefits open enrollment for health and welfare plans. Assist the Human Resources department with processing and reviewing employee additions terminations and status changes.10
  • Performs project and system tasks specifically to test install and implement HR/PR applications and time collection systems. Assists in the development of business requirements for automated solutions.10

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or related field plus at least three years experience processing payroll for an organization comprised of 500 or more employees in an automated environment. Equivalent experience and coursework may be considered in lieu of bachelors degree. Experience with UKG and NetSuite is strongly preferred.
  • This position also requires extreme accuracy a strong mathematical aptitude the ability to pay close attention to detail highly refined organizational and research skills and excellent time management skills.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary with emphasis on the ability to make complex payroll language clear to staff in other departments.
  • Internal and external teamwork priority setting and the demonstrated use of good judgment are all essential for this position as is discretion when working with salaries garnishments and other confidential matters.
  • Proven experience in Microsoft Office (Excel Word and Outlook) is required.
  • Ability to perform effectively in high pressure and stressful work environment. Ability to manage stress and selfcare.
  • Ability to work onsite fulltime to meet the collaborative responsibilities that are essential for position. Regular and reliable attendance is required.
  • Physical requirements include the ability to lift and reach for light objects; ability to type and work at a computer for extended periods of time as a primary job function.
  • Ability to protect the confidentiality of sensitive information by learning and following all relevant policies and protocols and using sound judgment in the handling and sharing of that information.
  • Local travel as well as occasional out of town travel may be required. Driving on Casey business may require use of personal vehicle; adherence to vehicle safety guidelines and qualification for insurance is require.

The typical hiring range for this position in Seattle WA is $70890 to $83400. Employees in this role have the potential to increase their pay up to $95910 which is the top of the range based on ongoing demonstrated and sustained performance in the role. Starting pay for this role will vary based on multiple factors including an individuals knowledge skills and experience. Pay ranges may be modified in the future.

Casey Family Programs offers comprehensive benefits including medical dental and vision coverage 10 paid holidays per year and each employee receives one personal holiday to use each calendar year. Employees that meet certain tenure qualifiers are eligible for up to eight weeks of parental leave for the birth or placement of a child for adoption or foster care. After the completion of 10 years of continuous fulltime regular employment employees in good standing are permitted for a threemonth sabbatical with pay. CFP also offers many opportunities for continued learning training and development.
